BASIC INFORMATION
for libraries, colleges, festivals and conferences, as well as theaters
Minimal Staging:
set pieces furnished; space about 12x16; a "speaker" space can be accomodated for personal monologs
Music:
hammered and lap dulcimer accompaniment, an integral part of most shows
Promotional materials: photos, press release, poster, bookmarks as handouts, promotion tips
Length: 60-90 minutes, including Q&A; personal monologs shorter, optional intermission
Fee:
negotiable for more than one show (a split of the house for a theater run); adjacent booking discounts; negotiable for personal monologs Sound:
reinforcement only if necessary for the space (Barbara has headset mic & receiver needing an open channel on presenter's board; musician needs lavalier & boom mic)
Lighting:
ranging from basic on-off (dimming, when available); minimal cues for theaters
Rehearsal "walk-through":
before showtime, arranged with Jeff, musician/manager
Program/playbill:
printed by sponsor 2-to-a page from furnished mockup
Workshop Options: "Our Own Stories:" The show's protagonist having "told her story" is an effective
springboard for Barbara's follow-up workshop. "Dulcimer Discoveries:" Jeff provides dulcimers, gets participants playing within even an hour's setting.
